| | How many pictures can I take with each camera? | |
| | Every YouShoot camera can take more pictures than a disposable. With our 128 megabyte Lexar flash memory upgrade, each camera can take well over 100 pictures with room for video.
For your memories, YouShoot trusts flash memory.

| | Why shouldn't I just use disposable cameras? | |
| | The concept of disposable cameras is perfect -- what better way to capture the candid moments that make your wedding special. For years this was the only option available. But many people have been unhappy with the results. Who hasn't heard from a bride that used disposable cameras only to find that the guests 'saved' the pictures until later in the wedding, only to leave the cameras with only three or four pictures taken. After paying full developing prices for all of these cameras they were left with low quality pictures of the floor! With digital cameras things are different. You get all of the great candid moments with high quality cameras and engaged wedding guests. One DJ in upstate New York wrote us to say how amazed he was by how the entertainment was transformed by the cameras -- they really became an important part of the wedding. And can your disposable camera record your first dance and the ensuing drunken karaoke??? | |
| | |
| | What kind of cameras does YouShoot use? | |
| | YouShoot uses Kodak digital cameras. We selected Kodak cameras because they are the easiest cameras to use, especially for first time digital camera users. We periodically upgrade our cameras, so it is possible that different (but better) cameras may be substituted. | |
| | |
| | What is included in shipping costs? | |
| | We charge a flat rate of $29 for all shipping costs for our digital camera rental services. This fee includes shipping of all cameras to and from the address of your choice. It also includes shipping of archive CDs and slideshow DVDs.
YouShoot offers free shipping on reservations placed at least 6 months in advance and 50 percent off shipping on reservations made 3 to 6 months in advance.
| | |
| | Where does YouShoot ship? | |
| | YouShoot currently ships anywhere in the United States and Canada. Check back periodically as we plan international expansion. Interested in helping YouShoot grow internationally? Email investors@youshoot.com. | |
| | |
| | I am going on my honeymoon right after my wedding, can my parents return the cameras? | |
| | Yes. YouShoot even makes this easy. When ordering you can enter an address to return the cameras from in addition to the shipping address. Don't know where you want the cameras shipped yet? Don't worry -- you can give us this information later. | |
| | |
| | What happens if a camera is damaged? | |
| | Incidental damages like scratches are included in camera prices. For damage which effects our ability to rent a camera, we offer insurance for $7 per camera. This insurance covers all damage as long as the camera is returned. | |
| | |
| | What happens if a camera is lost or stolen? | |
| | If a camera is lost or stolen, you will be responsible for its replacement. Replacement fees are $100 per 3-megapixel camera and $200 per 5-megapixel camera. Loss of a memory card will result in a $25 charge. Failure to return our premium rechargeable batteries will result in a $10 per set charge. Unfortunately there is no way for YouShoot to ensure against theft (or else no one would ever return our cameras!). If you are concerned about theft, we recommend either renting fewer cameras and giving them only to trusted family and friends, or using a managed check-out/check-in system. We can tell you that from experience, theft is rarely a problem. YouShoot cameras are clearly labeled as property of YouShoot with an instruction tag that makes it clear that the host is responsible for the camera. | |
| | |
| | This is all great, so how much does it cost? | |
| | Our pricing starts at $19.95 per camera. Use our online tool to configure the perfect package for your event. When comparing our prices, don't forget to include the forgotten costs of disposable cameras: processing costs, unused film, and missed opportunities to capture that perfect candid moment. | |
| | |
| | Do I have to pay it all now, or can I reserve now and pay later? | |
| | No, you don't. Reserve now with a fully refundable $50 deposit to ensure camera availability, and pay the balance thirty days before your event. If you change your mind, let us know 30 days or more before your event and we will refund your full $50 deposit. | |
| | |
| | Can I share my pictures with my friends and family online? | |
| | Yes! One of the biggest advantages of digital cameras over disposables is that you can share all of your pictures and video with your friends and family online. One week after your event, everyone can see the pictures they took -- and order their own prints of the best ones. Best of all, YouShoot is registration free, which means no hassle for your guests. | |
| | |
| | How do my guests know where to go to see the pictures? | |
| | YouShoot includes handy instruction cards that you can give to your guests to remind them where to find their pictures. At YouShoot.com you and your guests can email pictures to other guests, or people who were unable to make it to your event. | |
| | |
| | How long does it take for pictures to become available? | |
| | All of your photos and video will be online less than a week after we get the cameras back. Average processing time is about two days, which means your pictures are available right when you get back from your honeymoon. | |
| | |
| | How long are my pictures available online? | |
| | As long as you would like. All YouShoot packages include online photo hosting. The standard hosting length is one month, but most of our customers upgrade the length. In addition to convenient access to your memories from any computer in the world, YouShoot protects your memories with state-of-the-art redundant storage in several places in the world. | |
| | |
| | Do my guests have to register at YouShoot.com to see the pictures? | |
| | No. Unlike most photo services out there, YouShoot does not require registration to view, print, and share pictures online. We don't like registering, so we won't inconvenience your guests either. | |
| | |
| | Can my guests upload their own pictures? | |
| | Yes! With YouShare, anyone can upload their pictures from your event. We have heard too many stories where camera-happy Aunt Joan took tons of her own pictures at the wedding never to share them with the bride and groom! With YouShare, you can send your 'Aunt Joans' to your website where they can upload all of their pictures for everyone to see! Problem solved. | |
| | |

| | |
| | Can I add CD mailers if I have already created an event? | |

| | |
| | Can I use a DVD instead of a CD? | |
| | It is not recommended that you use a DVD instead of a CD in our prepaid CD mailers. Each mailer contains a blank CD that you or your guests can use to burn pictures to. In the event that you encounter a failure during the burning process, we can accept any blank CDR media. | |
| | |
| | How long does it take for pictures on CDs to be added to my event photo website? | |
| | The ammount of time required will vary, primarily based upon the time it takes to mail the CD to us. We are based in Cambridge, Massachusetts so USPS mailing time will be based on proximity to the east coast. Once we have received each CD we process quickly and typically the photos are available within 1-2 business days. | |
| | |
| | Can I get a full size copy of the pictures people send in on CD or DVD? | |

Download a full-size image or use your archive CD to print somewhere else.
| | |
| | Can my CDs contain video clips? | |
| | Yes. We will make an attempt to process video clips included on any CDs we receive. However, due to different standards used by different cameras we cannot guarantee that we will be able to process every video clip successfully. | |
| | |
| | Can I send you a CD with my professional photographer's pictures to host on my photo website? | |
| | Yes. If you have explicit copyright permission for the pictures we can host them on your event photo website. If we are contacted by 3rd party claiming copyright to the images they will be removed until you resolve the copyright issue with the photographer. If you are not sure whether you have copyright, ask your photographer first -- some allow it, some don't. | |
| | |
| | Can my guests and I upload pictures to my event photo website? | |
| | Absolutely. Using prepaid CD mailers is a convenient way to post large quantities of pictures, but for those guests with just a couple of pictures from their cell phone camera upload is probably easiest. | |
| | |
| | How much does it cost? | |
| | A premium YouShoot photo website is free until 45 days after your event if you order CD mailers or digital cameras. After that time you have the option of continuing hosting for $5.95 or $9.95 per month depending on service level selected.
If you are not using YouShoot CD mailers or digital camera rental, you have three options: Free, $5.95/mo, and $9.95/mo. If you would like to continue hosting longer you have the option of upgrading to our monthly hosting plans at that time.
| | |
